Description

How well is the investment consultancy sector performing, in the interests of its customers? Investment consultants play an important role advising pension trustees, who then make decisions about the investment strategy of pension schemes. In some cases, pension scheme investment decisions are entirely delegated to fiduciary managers. These sectors currently influence more than half of all UK retirement savings, working with pension scheme investment assets worth more than £1.6 trillion. The Competition and Markets Authority has put forward a series of proposed reforms to the sector after it found a number of competition-related concerns.
