The latest data from UK finance has revealed some interesting trends in the UK mortgage market. Perhaps one of the most significant findings in the latest data set, which covers mortgage market activity in August 2018, was a rise in the number of first-time buyer mortgages. These reached their highest level since June 2017, with 35,500 new first-time buyer mortgages completing during the month. Compared to the same month a year earlier, this represents an increase of 2%.
