Parents are increasingly making financial gifts to their adult children, but these could be causing friction between siblings. That’s the finding of a new national survey which concluded the growing popularity of the Bank of Mum and Dad could be causing family tension. Parents and grown up children admitted there are risks associated with giving the kids financial support. The national study, carried out by Key Retirement Solutions, surveyed over-55s who have gifted cash to their adult children. It found that nearly one in five have not told all of their children the full details of what siblings were given.
