Article preview: The latest house price survey from Halifax shows average property prices edging up in the final quarter of last year. For the three months to December 2018, average house prices were 1.3% higher when compared to the same period a year earlier. It’s a decent improvement compared with the 0.3% growth between the three months ending November 2018 and that period in the previous year. However, Halifax reported that house prices fell by 0.4% in the quarter between October and December compared with the three months between July and September.
