Article preview: With so much political and economic uncertainty, it’s little surprise that some investors are having a wobble. The news this week that fund manager M&G is temporarily suspending trades for its M&G Property Portfolio is unsurprising during a time of nervousness. Dealing in the £2.5bn property portfolio was suspended with immediate effect because the demand for redemptions could not be met quickly enough by selling property assets. It’s not the first time we’ve seen this happen with open-ended commercial property funds, and we can safely say it won’t be the last time.
